FAQs

Q: How close to the beach are the apartments?

A: Very close - the beach is only about 200 metres from the Coastal Apartments. A very short walk across the road to the main beach promenade and you are there. The Town Apartments are a little further away, but still within easy walking distance.

Q: How many people does the Apartment sleep?

A: Different apartments sleep different numbers of people, (max x4 persons) please see the table for the individual specifications of each apartment.

Q: Is there any additional sleeping capacity?

A: No - we recommend a maximum for each apartment highlighted in the relevant table.

Q: Do we need to bring our own bed linen?

A: No, we provide all bed linen. This will be clean and freshly laundered when you arrive. If you are staying for more than a week, we will provide a change of bed linen after the first week. If you want additional bed linen laundered while you are staying at the property, we can normally arrange this for an additional charge.

Q: Do you provide towels?

A: Yes, each guest will be provided with one set of towels (one bath towel and one hand towel) each. If you need additional towels, you should bring these with you.

Q: What about beach towels?

A: The towels we provide must not be removed from the property or taken on the beach. As many of our guests come from outside the UK and have luggage restrictions, we also keep some large beach towels at the nearby hotel and these can be provided at a charge of £3.75 per towel.

Q: Do I need to bring soap and toilet rolls?

A: We provide toilet rolls and small bars of complimentary soap, shampoo and conditioner, but you may wish to bring your own supply of bath/shower soap and shampoo.

Q. Are there laundry facilities at the Coastal or Town Apartments?

A. Yes, there is an automatic washing machine and tumble dryer, iron and ironing board.

Q: What facilities are there in the kitchen?

A: There is a hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer and a slimline dishwasher. We provide all the usual cutlery, plates, glasses, pans, tea towels etc, etc.

Q: Are there televisions at the apartments?

A: Yes, there are widescreen plasma televisions and DVD players at all apartments.

Q: Is there a telephone in any of the apartments?

A: No, but there is good mobile reception for most networks and there are public pay telephones located at various points in Exmouth.

Q: Is there internet access at any of the apartments?

A: No, but there are various internet access points in Exmouth (e.g. at The Royal Beacon Hotel).

Q: Are the apartments centrally heated?

A: Yes, both the Coastal Apartments are gas centrally heated and the Town Apartments are gas centrally heated. Explanations of how to use the heating and hot water system are contained in the Information File which you will find on your arrival. Unless it is cold weather, the heating will normally be switched off when you arrive.

Q: How many sets of keys are there?

A: You will be provided with two sets of keys. Both of these sets of keys will be handed to you on your arrival. On your departure, please lock the doors and post the keys back through the letterbox, or hand to reception at the Royal Beacon Hotel.

Q: When can we arrive at the apartments on the first day of our stay?

A: You can arrive any time after 3.00 p.m. on the day of your arrival, or possibly earlier by arrangement.

Q: When must we leave the property on the last day of our stay?

A: You must vacate the property by 10.00 a.m. at the latest.

Q: If we arrive late, will we be able to shop for food?

A: Yes, nearby there is a large Tesco located on the Salterton Road which is normally open 24 hours except Sunday, when it closes at 4pm. If on any of the nights you do not feel like catering yourselves, then there is a choice of excellent restaurants nearby.

Q: Is there a cot or high chair at the property?

A: No, but these can be obtained free of charge from the Royal Beacon Hotel.

Q: Is there car parking at the property?

A: Yes, there is car parking on the road directly opposite the Town Apartments which is free with no restrictions. The Coastal Apartments have their own private car park, although there is also unrestricted parking close by.

Q: What if we have questions after we arrive?

A: The hotel that the apartments are operated from has a 24 hour night porter and reception should be able to deal with any enquiries you may have.

Q: Do I need a car to get around in Exmouth?

A: No, all apartments are ideally located and are within easy walking distance of all the shops, cafes, restaurants and amenities in Exmouth. They are also very close to the beach. If you want to explore further afield in Devon and Cornwall, a car is useful, although not essential, as there are good train, bus and coach services to many destinations.

Q: Are there any gardens or other private facilities?

A: Yes, the Royal Beacon hotel has private gardens that can be used by both the residents of the town and Coastal Apartments, however, the Coastal Apartments also have additional private gardens overlooking the extensive Coastline.
